ILAC Update: Canada to drop COVID PCR test and quarantine

Starting February 28, 2022, fully vaccinated travellers will no longer require a pre-arrival COVID-19 PCR test to enter Canada.

Travellers will still be required to take a pre-arrival test, but it can be a rapid antigen test taken one day before their scheduled flight.

Fully vaccinated travellers may still be randomly selected for a COVID test upon arrival but will not have to quarantine while awaiting results.

Antigen tests are usually cheaper than molecular tests and can provide results within minutes. Currently, all travellers must provide proof of a negative molecular test, such as a PCR test, within 72 hours of their scheduled flight or land entry into Canada.
