ILAC is supporting all international students, teachers and staff to get the vaccine as soon as possible to make Toronto and Vancouver safe again.
With children as young as 12 now getting vaccinated, Canada’s vaccine roll-out is already ahead of the USA.
So far 18 million Canadians have received at least one dose. Nearly 49% of all Canadians have had their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while the U.S. at just over 48%.
“It’s up to all of us to make Toronto and Vancouver a safe place to study and socialize,” says Jonathan Kolber, ILAC CEO. “We will do whatever it takes to make sure every student and teacher has the opportunity to get vaccinated.”
Languages Canada has confirmed that international students in Canada have access to COVID-19 vaccines, regardless of their province of residence. Students do not need a health card and can register to get the shot online in BC and Ontario.
“If we want to go back to having in-person classes and events this summer, it is important that everyone gets vaccinate,” says Kolber. “Canada is now leading the way to ensure that every single person has access to the vaccine.”
